Whoa!

"The first version of this artwork was as in a table format. It is manufactured from the highest quality materials, and is scalable by design to any required size. An embedded solid-state bespoke control system provide a reliable and maintenance free real-time interactive and responsive control. The table can also operate in a ‘generative art’ mode where it uses algorithms to create a intriguing and perpetually shifting pattern of colours."

3d Speed Bumps?

Fake 3D Speed Bumps in Philly:

"Denny says this effort includes the deployment at about 100 intersections of high tech decals that create a 3-D image, to make drivers think there's something in the intersection:

"Plastic material that is laid down, and it gives the illusion of being a hump in the roadway. And therefore people react to it as though it were a hump, and slow down. The driver sees this in the roadway, and they think that its some protrusion up out of the roadway, and not a perfectly flat surface. So they slow down before they drive over it.""

Hmmm... found this on Gizmodo
They're easier/cheaper to install/remove than regular speed bumps, but you lose the actual "bump", defeating the purpose. Check out this article from Engadget that features a 52" Philips. Read through the comments to hear folks' take on 3D Television and where it's headed.

My take: It will catch on slower than HDTV, and be plagued by different formats and lack of programming.

Some sets (and projectors) will use glasses and be more successful rendering 3D, while others will forgo glasses and add 'simulated' depth to regular TV shows and video games.
3D is catching on at movie theaters, but it will be a while before this kind of technology catches on at home.
I see more hope for 3D computer monitors, but unless everyone has them, what good will they be except for a tiny obsessed minority?

That's one reason anaglyphs are my preferred method for stereo vision.... simple, cheap, and gets the job done.

Watts3D.blogspot Birthed

It took some data uploading, sharing and finally pushing.

Now here she is, my new blog dedicated to 3D Photography and more specifically, anaglyphs.
